Flint Knapping is the skill of reshaping stone or mineral glass in its raw form into a usable primitive tool.
Some of the earliest tools made by humankind were stone tools, including hand axes, chisels, and scrapers. Over time, the skill developed into making knives and arrowheads out of chert and obsidian. Instructor Jared Hazen will demonstrate what tools to use, how to source or make them, and how to source and use commonly available materials to start learning to knap, learning the basics of knapping, and using those tools to create basic stone-age tools.
